The intraoral lesions show a predilection for tongue. We report a case of schwannoma in a 39-year-old male, located on the tongue. Diagnosis is made by histological examination of the lesion. The treatment A neurilemmoma or Schwann cell tumor is a distinctive nerve sheath tumor, characterized histologically by the regimentation of its cells.

The soft tissue lesions usually present as an asymptomatic, submucosal swelling in the tongue, lip, cheek, and palate. We report the case of a 9-year-old boy who presented with a symptomatic, exophytic, and pedunculated lesion at the tongue base, appearing papillomatous. Complete excision and pathologic evaluation revealed a neurilemmoma. 2007-11-01 · We encountered 2 cases of neurilemmoma of the tongue within a 3-week period. The authors report a case of uncommon neurilemmoma on the tip of the tongue.A 23-year-old Korean man presented with a mass on the tip of the tongue, which was noted first 3 years before, when it was a small nodule.The mass had been growing slowly.

The mobile portion, such as the dorsum, of the tongue is the most commonly affected site, but the base of the tongue is rare (3, 4, 5). Neurilemmoma is usually soimry, benign tumour derived from schwan cells of the Sheaths of peripheral cranial or autonomie nerves. In thehead and neck region it occurs most commonly in association with acoustic nerve within the skuil and is rely fottnd in the oral cavity (1,2). A slowly growing, circumscribed neurilemmoma situated in the region of the foramen caecum of the tongue in a female patient aged 32 years is reported, with characteristic structural features of neurilemmal cells of Schwann.
